The Finished Product
The meat we produce for you to eat is the culmination of 14-18 month’s work. We care about how our herd is treated and they are closely monitored and handled in a way which will produce a product that you will be satisfied with.
We do not use any hormones or anything which is not natural to enhance their growth, they must grow naturally. An important part of our philosophy is what they eat or rather what they don’t eat. The high country of the Central Tablelands can be hard on livestock as it is a cold climate with winters that can last 9 months of the year. August can be a particularly hard month for pasture availability and so it is usually necessary to feed them. Murray Greys are Bos Taurus and are suited to this climate whereas Bos Indicus cattle (those that have a hump) are suited to tropical climates. Our stock are grass fed only and no grain of any description is ever used. Pasture hay which is cut from our pastures is utilized if the season permits otherwise we purchase wheat straw as a supplement.
Once animals arrive at market weights they are transported, processed and aged at Cowra Meat Processors then packaged by My Butcher On Main in Lithgow. The final product is delivered by us to you chilled having never been frozen. The taste is different to what you are used to because for all of its life it has been cared for, allowed to grow naturally, has eaten only what nature provides and is stress free. You will definitely notice a taste difference.
